The Making of An Acoustic Levitation Chamber.
The challenge was to make an acoustic levitation chamber that would levitate a cube made of Aerogel, a silicon based solid. The Aerogel disperses a LASER beam that is used to demodulate a steganographic encoded message from the extraterrestrials.
The project took three months of design and construction, then two more months of writing software to control the device, then another two months to tune the chamber for resonance.
The acoustic levitation chamber levitates objects using resonant standing waves of acoustic pressure differentials.
